Tesla’s Q4 Delivery Shortfall Highlights EV Market Challenges
Tesla's fourth-quarter deliveries fell short of estimates, marking a second consecutive annual sales decline. The company delivered 422,850 vehicles, a 15% year-over-year drop, missing both analyst expectations and its own December survey projection. Production also dipped 5.5% to 434,358 units compared to Q4 2024.
The Model 3 and Model Y accounted for 97% of quarterly deliveries, while Cybertruck sales remained negligible despite over 1 million reservations. SpaceX's bulk purchase failed to significantly impact earnings. Intensifying competition from BYD, Kia, Hyundai, and Volkswagen continues to pressure Tesla's global market position.
